IPO vs Private equity finance within Medtech

CBS presents an inspiring event that will cover two companies specializing in the development of detection and treatment of cancer: NIRAMAI Health Analytix. and Scandinavian Chemotech.

Scandinavian Chemotech is a Swedish company which is specializing in the treatment of superficial tumors, using the technique of tumor-specific electroporation. The CEO and largest shareholder, Mohan Frick, has financed his company with an IPO. Mr Frick has previously held multiple positions in various companies, such as Getinge.

NIRAMAI Health Analytix is an Indian company which has developed a new medical device to detect breast cancer at a much earlier stage than traditional methods. The founder, Dr. Geetha Manjunath, is financing her establishment with private equity. Dr. Manjunath has received national as well as international recognition for her innovations and is included on the Forbes List of Top 20 Self-Made Women in 2020.
